I decided to revamp an old project, based in papel picado for a Tanzanian restaurant wanting to package and sell their tortilla chips. The initial idea was my first venture into hand lettering, which while a good concept was terribly executed.
The dotted circles show slight nuances in text alteration and fit. I have my favorite but would love to entertain some thoughts!
Really nice, love seeing the variations. I'd probably say bottom left one (although I do love that 'r' in the top right one). Those are some great 'V's! In both left versions, the way the apostrophe fits alongside the upper 's' curve is a really nice touch.
For the ones where the 'V' is not connected, have you tried shifting that letter down a bit? Could be interesting to see how it affects the left-right balance, as currently they all lean quite a bit to the right (which doesn't bother me, just an interesting thought).
@Claire Coullon Can I just carry you in my pocket? The bottom left is also my favorite (the 'r' I just loved in the top right). I will adjust the 'V', as testing it really rounds out the shape of the text! So helpful- thank you!!
