How to think like a design researcher

Last week our own Emily Messing led an interactive workshop for Ladies That UX Boston on How to Think Like a Design Researcher. She says design research is a “messy, beautiful process,” and walked the group through the research flavors she uses at ezCater to learn: discovery, generative, and evaluative.

Discovery = We don’t know where to start.

Generative = We know our general direction, but not the best way to get there.

Evaluative = We need to validate or invalidate design decisions & measure impact.
