Some of the UI design for a social network.

Nailed it on the 3D looking buttons. My only suggestion would be use a more neon blue for the glow.
very good and appealing.
nice buttons :) maybe brighten up the dropdown shadow, seems a bit smudgy right now. Also the selected box (pink/search) the bottom shadow could be removed. I would Also bold the text a bit.
i cannot express the level of awesomeness here
I really like the glow on those buttons, but i would like to make dropdown little bit sharper (outerstroke) :)
Thanks for the comments guys.
@Luboš Volkov I see what you mean, thanks for pointing that out.
@David Kovalev I agree with you but which bottom shadow should be removed where? You mean on the text?
@Dash the clicked (complete) button is just not working for me. the reversed gradient is too obvious, it is begging for some inner shadow, and i really dont like the shadow you have applied, its not deep enough.
* some stroke on the dropdown menu would've been great to make it a lil bit sharp.
* that "COMPLETE" text on the button seems low on sharpness. how about giving it a litttle bit of lower shadow? just a thought.
* the divider on the top right is just too damn sharp on the low side.
on the other hand, the blue light falling down from the (complete) button on the drop down menu is just awesome. i like how the light fades away at the top of the drop down menu.
@dash your shapes might not be aligned to the pixel grid: http://d.pr/i/EeY1
Would be crispier w/o that line (like the top part of that shape)
Very nicely done. My only critique would be that the blue glow doesn't appear to be bright enough to reflect off of the dropdown menu below it.
thats some heavy looking interface
This better not be a social network for spec work.
READY YOUR PITCHFORKS MEN.
You wrote, "Search an existing competion", buy I assume you meant "competition."
Looks awesome though!
