Working on the "Desert" and "Suburbs" illustrations in the series.

Oh, boy. You know I love that landscape. Are those bubbles?
@Timothy J. Reynolds The circles in the Desert are supposed to be bushes and in the Suburbs are stylized trees.
I'm digging the houses. I especially like that one odd angled roof.
Loving the development of the detail in those nature-scapes. The contrast between the natural and built environments really great.
@Ryan Putnam Ahh, I see the trees in the suburbs. Maybe the desert bushes would read better as ovals or cactus-shaped. Just a thought. Love it, either way.
@Timothy J. Reynolds I was wondering about using cactuses instead of bushes to make it more "deserty".
For me, the circles lean it more towards sci-fi, like a Mars desert instead of an Earth desert.
Do you just come up with the lines on the mountains or have kind of a method/grid to follow ?
I am really digging this series... for the trees in the suburbs I read it as street lights... maybe make the tops of the tree a tad larger to differentiate?

Here is the artwork for "Coastline" and "Farmland". These are the last illustrations in the series. Next I'm working on the lettering these illustration will be a part of.

I have the sudden urge to use the Live Paint Bucket.
@Sharon Milne Ha! I actually printed a couple out to color with crayons. It was pretty fun.
@Juan Gomez No real method, just sketched out the landscape and traced in Illustrator.
