Currently redesignin' the website of a tiny dev company a friend of mine and me are running (I'm the UI/web guy while he does the all the obj-c magic). The whole thing was pretty much dead for the last little while (just minor app updates here and there), but we've recently decided to get the gears going again, hence me starting to work on a redesign. For now, I won't share any names though because the website's current state is absolutely embarassing (showcasing my skill level from ~3 years ago).
Anyway, enough descriptive talking. I'm stuck between these two navbar designs, an indented "behind the rest" concept and a standard extruded button bar version. I think I like the idea of the indented one better, but think that the bottom one has a little more "pop". Which one would you choose?

I like the indented one more.
WoW! Great, love this ! Well done
@Aaron Ng Thanks for your input! I strongly tend towards that one too, as simplicity should probably overweigh standing out in this case. It's the navbar and not the content afterall.
@sky Thanks! :)
I like the non-indented one more.
I do like the Standard one better.
@Alex @Adam Meyer Thanks guys, that counterpoint was pretty much predestined to come up at some point :D Well, I'll give it another thought.
Both look great, but I tend to like the standard one better, because it really has this more "pop".
