Ok So seriously need your folks feedback on this one. I started designing the points badge and then realized it might look like Morgan's Hyper Compact logo. If it seems to be too much like it, I don't want to use it and will do something different.
seems like you're trying to fuse vintage and modern with the color palette. Interesting no doubt, but not sure I'm a fan. Otherwise, very sharp, well done.
Edit: It's growing on me, probably also looks great in person
the hyper compact logo was the first thing that came to my mind whenever i saw it, however, it still looks great. i agree a bit with @Jeremy Goldberg about the color choices -- i think it may be the navbar but still a great shot! awesome job :)
Regardless of the Knutmeister's design, I feel like it's a bit of clash in tone. That winged majigger feels very 'art deco' and streamlined: highly progressive and dynamic, while the rest of the UI, branding, and concept (that we've seen so far), is much more casual and jubilent, although the excitement is right for the logo.
But first thing I thought was 'hypercompact'... but most people wouldn't. It looks great otherwise!
The badge does look a bit like the Hyper Compact logo but I think you can still pull this off without looking like you straight copied the logo. This is just an element and the other is a logo. If this was a logo then it would be a different story.
You might want to try some small changes but not a whole bunch. This really reminds me of those American Airlines badges :D
Just would like to say. I used to live in SLC, and if you're talking about the Tony Caputo that I know from Caputo's deli, you're awesome and I miss that place xD
The interface from a user experience perspective looks nice. I agree that the noise on the gradients may not be necessary. I wonder if you may be pushing the boundaries with the color scheme a bit. Also, I too immediately thought of the Hyper Compact logo... questioning whether the wings really fit with the content.
Everyone thank you so much for your feedback! Taking all this in and thinking accordingly on how to move forward with the design.
Just a heads up, this product is like nothing out there. Give Strum a follow and keep up to date with progress. You wont be let down by what the app will offer. Also, just an awesome team to keep in touch with!

Dribbble's top model using its own photo for its own shot. Nice one ;)

I don't think you should be worried about the slight similarities. Both your logo and his logo are still based off pilot wings, which are all slightly similar to each other in one way or another: https://www.google.com/search?sugexp=chrome,mod%3D0&q=pilot+wings&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hl=en&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&authuser=0&ei=54mJUJ-pEqXKyQH2zoGADQ&biw=1439&bih=779&sei=7ImJUMLHE_KvygGf84C4DQ

The badge is nicely done. I really like it. With that said, does the app/badge have anything to do with flight? I'm just not sure how it fits if not.
Also, the Hyper Compact logo is the first thing I saw when I noticed the shot, to answer your question.

I wouldn't have thought Hyper Compact, but I see what you're saying. There are many other badge logos out there with that style too.
Keep tweaking it until it becomes your own.

Not digging the noise on the gradient bars... makes it look dirty and noise just feels overdone to me, but that's just my opinion.

I love the badge and don't think it's too close to Morgan's. I like it more actually. I do think that blue is too bright, overpowering.

I honestly don't see anything wrong with that badge. It is looking super nice. I would keep it as it is.

It's a cool design. But yeah, it's pretty close to Hypercompact. I mean, not as close as rnorgan's keming...
