We are convinced that building prototypes helps you to come up with many ideas that you might not stumble upon otherwise. Making prototypes gets you branching off in different directions that armchair brainstorming doesn't take you to.
If the results appear on some sort of receipt, shouldn't it be printed at the end of the discovery process with static text on it? The live count could be shown somewhere related to the wavy orb instead.
Whoa, amazing work! Not so sure about the animation when the ripples originate in the center of the radar though (first you see a bordered circle that spreads to the inside until its center is filled out, but then immediately reverses its direction and starts spreading outward). I mean, it looks kinda neat, but in terms of realism, I guess it would make more sense to simply let it originate as a temporarily filled-out circle with only one spreading direction.
(Ultra-complicated descriptions FTW -.-)
@Ari All praise to Quartz Composer ;) I make it in Quartz Composer, import the video and do a few editing/compositing and export the .GIF
@Jona Yeah, it's because of the thick width I assigned to the waves. When I think about it now, I think it should have been a couple of pixels lower. Thanks for the feedback mate ;)
