Ha! Thats great you start with a grey scale first! I recently learned that off of a video on Digital Tutors. This was my 2nd attempt using that technique (http://theartofsantana.com/portfolio-items/musical-robot/). A little more time consuming but I'm a fan of it. Once again thanks for sharing, GREAT work!
@Joel Santana Awesome work Joel! I paint each light source on separate layers initially (front, rim, top etc..) - that way I can fine tune the colour/intensity of each before I commit and begin painting in the details
Aha thats interesting. I always get different feedback on painting on separate layers or painting on the same layer. Personally I agree with you, I very much prefer to have things separate. :)
