   I think the circle technique works better when you're referring to the left and right speakers respectively (both starting at the bottom and going up). Where here as a global volume, I'd expect it to start from the top and go clock-wise from there. Like the concept though.

    Okay, so to be fair to the initial post I thought I'd better do one up in circular form. :-)

    Never have be an fan of the increment marks for the volume slider. Especially since you can adjust the volume at a finer level by holding option+shit+volume-down/-up. A solid line provides more granular control. Here's my take on that. ;-)
