Step Away from the Pixels Detail

Step Away from the Pixels was an event I hosted and spoke at in Denver last year. Our panel spoke about all the other jobs designers do outside of design.

My talk covered how play can unlock creativity (I used the Eames' as an example of the playful designer archetype because they are the best)

During the talk I let the audience play exactly how they liked with a pencil and paper, no forced trust falls here. The creativity that built up in the room over those five minutes spanned from silent drawing, paper airplanes, human basketball and a group of people who ended up doing handstands for some reason.

It was lovely and I hope to do it again.
