@Daniel Post thought about that too. Since this is a WordPress theme, it's safe to assume people will have a bunch of links in the menu. Pushing them over may interfere with the logo area. Still processing best approach. Thanks for suggestions!
Nice! I had the same thoughts with my iteration! First I wanted to replace the menu, but then I tried sliding navs to the left, which as you suggested, ended up in the logo area. I'm not 100% jazzed about absolutely positioning it (what I did) either though. But I liked the icon there, and had to make something work!
