A one-color, outlined version of the illustration.

This is very cool, but there's something with the thumb that makes it seem odd. Really, really dig the illustration. I cherish Communion.
Thanks @Joel Reid! Any specific suggestions for the thumb?
I was gonna say something about the thumb seeming odd too, but I didn't really have any good suggestions so I didn't say anything. The only thing I can think of is maybe trying a thinner thumb. Otherwise this is killer!
@Dan Peters I'll give that a shot. Thanks dude!
This is slick, dude!
I'd suggest bringing the joining loop/point of the thumb up. I think what's weird is that that connection should be thicker. Does that make sense?
@Jim LePage thanks a ton, bro! I'm definitely gonna try these tweaks to the thumb.
@Brandon Harrison Have you tried having the outline of the wrist come down behind the stem of the cup? That may help? Because I don't think it's the thumb itself. I think it's the aesthetic of the thumb coming from a skinny little stem.
Wow man, these are great! Love the concept and colors.
Thanks @Zach Hink!
@Dan Peters @Jim LePage @Joel Reid alright dudes, I took another shot at the thumb. I made it thinner, made the connection thicker/taller and adjusted the spacing to match the fingers. It feels way more cohesive now. Check it out here. The original is on the left, the new version is on the right.
Thanks for the input!
New one looks great! I personally prefer the thinner connection of the thumb to the hand but that's just me.
@Dan Peters I think you're right so I made it a little smaller. http://dribbble.com/shots/764727-Connection-Point-2/attachments/75754
Dude! This is stellar! I've gotta start doing sermon series art soon. Thanks for the inspiration. :D
Thanks @David Anspaugh! Rock out that sermon art :)
@Brandon Harrison I honestly prefer the original over the new one b/c the thumb is supposed to be thicker than the rest of the fingers. Again, I don't think the thumb is the issue. I think it's the vertical aesthetic of the wine glass not filling centered with the width of the hand b/c the thumb juts out away from the four fingers and glass thus the reason I suggested adding the wrist. Nonetheless, this really looks great whether you make changes or not. :)
