@PixelBit Apps Thanks! In hindsight the chrome on the last one seemed like a bit of a waste of space. It was serving no purpose. This player's purpose is to be reduced to a really small size and therefore needs to really utilise the space. I think this new one also better reflects the current Rdio design and direction.
I like the look of this, but since your design depends on automatic cropping, I think you'll run into problems with album covers that don't handle a center crop as well. A lot of them will look fine, but there are a lot of album covers that have their most important/iconic elements in the top third. Back in Black by AC/DC or Pink Flag by Wire are two examples.
