I feel, it gives more attention to the image than the resume sample in hand. If it is intended, than its in a right direction. However, I believe, resume sample has to be highlighted significantly. Just a thought :)
I like to overal look in both versions. I prefer the visible header in the first, as it adds some immediate context as to what I’m looking at. I’d say the photography needs a third take; I like the more close-up approach in the first, bringing more focus to the subject than in the second. As for the second, I feel it shows too much surrounding which distracts a bit. I do like that I see her eyes, making it more personal. Perhaps showing her face enterily would be even better?
Really like where you are going with this project, looking forward to see it in action.
