I'm writing my own manual for my blog posts (for Veerle's blog 3.0), because it is that complicated. Since I'll be able to layout my articles in a lot of ways, I need a document that shows me all the different options, the dimensions for images, etc.
I see you still write (and think, I assume) Flemish, not English. It's good to stay close to your 'roots'. I actually caught myself writing my to-do lists in English instead of Dutch ;)
Thanks for posting this, Veerle. I've been toying with a similar idea for the new Superfluous Banter (for the same reasons) but had almost convinced myself not to do it because it might be overkill just for my own use — now I know better :)
@Sebastiaan de With Yes! I can totally relate to what you're saying here. I must say I've used English in the ExpressionEngine admin for my instructions :) Or my CSS coding (classes & IDs), layer names in Photoshop... It's a bit of a mix, usually it depends if it's only for me or not. I sometimes caught myself saying an English word in the middle of a Dutch sentence... Or sometimes I have to think "what is that word again in Dutch?" :) It's usually the opposite around though, but there are words like e.g. 'anyway' that I often use while speaking Dutch/Flemish.
@Dan Rubin I know what you mean, it is a few hours of work, but for this blog I really need it, and I'm convinced it'll save me a lot of time.
Having a blog with multiple layouts is indeed an interesting approach. I attempted to go down this road a while back and found I didn't have as much time as usual to write posts. In the end because my output was limited I had to switch back to having a single (boring) layout =(
It will be interesting to see how this turns out for you Veerle and if you have to spend more time writing posts.
