Not sure which to use for the Hover and Pressed states.

Interesting. Why did you make the changes you made?
Felt that the gradient on yours was a bit strong, and 'Goo-ey'
so made it more subtle, didn't like the font you used too much, I personally prefer bolder fonts, so went with myriad pro, bold.
Felt that some subtle noise texture would help give it some detail and interest, sine the vibrant gradient had been toned down. And I like how orange and green works.
Also, I had used this layer style for a button I am working on for a project, and felt it would look nice here.
I would indent the pressed state, to simulate it actually being pressed.
Yea that's what I was trying to get across with the "swap" but I kind of liked the highlighted one for the pressed, but if I were ever to actually use I think you're right in having indented for the pressed one :)
Take cues from Apple. That's what they do with their main navigation on their website ;-)
