We want to keep the UI secondary - keeping it minimal and clean. This will allow us to bring more focus to the logos/deals of the site.

Dig it! Very delicately designed. What do you think about making the background of "Hot" a tad bit darker to make it stand out that it's actually selected? I'm ok with it as-is. Just wondering if you've explored that.
