This button is a product of obsession. But I know it can be better.

    So... take this PSD: http://cargo.dustincurtis.com/improve_this_button.psd

Make it better. Then post a rebound or something.

Really, just a button? 224 views? I can't even begin to comment since I have no context here.

I like Sahil's arrow, but can't say the same for his humor ;)

I like buttons to feel like you could really push them and they'll actually move. Made the button "raised", added more of a shine, added a tiny bit of texture, moved text and arrow up 1px, gave it a "channel". Here's my PSD.

"This button is a product of obsession."

Is it part of a project you're obsessed with, or you're obsessing about the button itself?

Move the text up a pixel

Probably lose the "cool" unless you feel it's super critical to the tone. Otherwise it's noise for the user trying to easily spot the primary action.

Spice up the arrow a bit. Low hanging fruit for making the whole thing a bit more interesting.

Consider mixed case, might give it a bit more importance. Again, I don't know the mood/tone you're going after.

I agree with Patrick that more context is needed for any feedback beyond that.

Without context, I think any of us are simply designing with personal style. However all these buttons are also hhhot.

must have seen the text being low...

This is like leaving the fly down on a really nice suit and asking a bunch of fashion designers what they think of your outfit.

I made my adjustments assuming the colour scheme and general feel were to stay fairly similar, here were my changes (original on top, mine on the bottom):

    • Moved the text and arrow up to vertically center
    • Moved the text and arrow towards each other to center horizontally with the perceptual length of the button (rounded edges taken into account)
    • Tiny adjustments to text to make vertical strokes stronger
    • Made the gradient slightly less intense, and moved the center upwards to give more dimension
    • Made adjustments to the highlights and shadows on the button, text, and arrow to give more dimension
    • Darkened text to add a bit more contrast
    • Added a tiny bit of noise to make the button more tactile

I like the labeling. Maybe a reference to the band, "OK Go"
