I'm illustrating Anne of Green Gables for Eli Readers. Here's a small preview of the characters. Working in a slightly different way, keeping my pencil drawing instead of discarding the layer in the end. I was hoping to use a heavy pencil rendering too, but the tight schedule doesn't allow me to do so. Hopefully next time.

Beautiful. I'd like to try working this way too. Get tired of all those bold lines sometimes.

thanks guys... nice to know it's working, even if different!

@Erica Sirotich yes, exactly! Plus, I find something gets lost from pencil drawing to colour. I have the bad habit of doing very detailed roughs and sometimes I like them better than the final colour. Give it a try! It's also a bit faster

Thank you all! I should start working on full scenese this week, I hope they'll work out well. It's a different approach and I hope it'll get me somewhere or open new possibilities...
