App icon for the voice memo / audio recording app I've been designing.

Dude that is amazing. I wonder if the woven pieces could use a subtle texture? Great work.
Its awesome, just wondering that the woven part shud be thinner...
But overall a decent work...
@Matt D. Smith, hmm, maybe? I'm not sure what texture it would have. I wanted the material to come across as smooth metal. What would you suggest?
@Cidify They look thick here, but remember, this is an icon. I played around with different thicknesses and this one seemed to scale the best to 114px (iphone icon size).
Hmm, yeah it definitely looks good as it is. That orange button/thing is so glossy, detailed and shiny, so it could be that that makes me want more detail in the material above. But then again, like you said, if it looks great on an iPhone that's really all that matters. =)
I don't think they need a texture as much as they need soldering wear...if you're going for realism. Each joint would have a very slight variation of where the soldering was done and maybe a slight color variation. Also if you went with a texture I would make it almost more like random flat spots where the wire was touched by the machines that pressed and assembled it.
I've seen too many episodes of How It's Made.
“Just what do you think you're doing, Dave? Don't touch my weave, Dave.”
Great icon, Matt. Nice careful work on the warps and the woofs.
@DOSBeats I think slight color variations would be cool looking. It needs an element of slight randomness.
@Joe Bauldoff It's funny, I have a folder named Hal in the psd. No lie.
Simply STUNNING!!! @Matthew Daniels
