   I've always been wondering how to make wavy shapes like this. How do you do it?

   It's easy! In Illustrator (in Fireworks too) you must to do a circle shape, and once selected it, go to effects > Transform > Zig zag. Then, you can set the two radius, and if you want smooth (for wavy shapes) or strong (for rectangular zig zags). Try you!
