@Bady@jonathan olsen@AJ Lopez — It's kinda strange, most apps have a vastly improved design in iOS6 except this one. However, I do not think my concept is a good substitute. Maybe in this direction but it's not an native apple like design. My idea was just to experiment with different typefaces, colors and shapes not to do a proper redesign.
The result. Well I'm using Bliss in this design and I am not 100% happy with that choice of typeface. Lesson learned.
I actually think they took a step back with a lot of the apps in iOS 6. The dark UI with blue details doesn't look as crisp as the former ones. The new phone-app looks horrible though and this would be a much better option.
@Oskar Levinson — I think apps like App Store, Podcaster and iTunes looks so much better in iOS 6, but also much slower. I'm not fully convinced about the whole UX but the finish of the design details is nice.
I like most of the iOS6 polish, but I agree the keypad isn't an improvement. Especially the call button. This is a great redesign concept. I think they just need to make a complete UI overhaul that is homogenous and consistant. Some older elements are fine in a traditional design sense but can't compete with other contemporary UIs on an aesthetic level.
Wow. It looks really nice. But there is one thing about the new white keypad in iOS6’ phone app that makes a lot of sense to me: better contrast. The keypad is well separated from the menu on the bottom. And while your redesign really looks beautiful, in order to increase usability I think that the keypad and menu should be more visually separated.
Looks great. If you designed this as a replacement to the current phone app, the use of Helvetica would be a better choice, in terms integration with the rest of the OS. Other than that, choosing a different font is absolutely fine with me. I would agree with @Reimar Servas that the menu at the bottom should be visually distinct from the rest of the keypad. However, Apple messed it up trying to do so.

Quick redesign of the iOS phone app since I'm not a big fan of the new one.
Note to all: Since people are picky about typos I had to upload this shot again. Sorry about that folks.

This is how apple should design the phone app. Didn't understand why they made decision with the current phone app. This looks great!

You should try the standard Helvetica Neue or some variation Proxima Nova :) Always looks good.

@jonathan olsen — That's like telling me to try Coca Cola when I'm looking for some new drinks.
No right now I explore the quality and appropriateness of Benton Sans, Poynter Agate and Amplitude for apps.

Such an improvement over the iOS6 design. I don't know what possessed them to change it..

I really love the style and polish of the keypad grid.
Curious how well it would perform with touch type though since the keypad isn't at the absolute bottom.
