I kinda thought "oh no what's he doing" when I saw the darker version, but actually it looks awesome. I think I prefer it like this, really nice to look at.
@Liam McKay Hehe my thoughts exactly when I opened Photoshop and started putting it together! But yeah, I think for a first attempt it came out alright. All the basic functions are still there, just differently designed. And some of the UX is going to be done a little better!
@Julia Khusainova How do you mean? The top left where @james is will be used for the username only. What else do you imagine could go there?
User profile info doesn't seem important enough to me to justify hiding one third of the main view (which the user was looking at, even if tapping the profile photo to get more info was probably intentional). There may be more info to display than what you show here but still, putting it in such a large portion of the screen makes the profile info seem a little empty and boring. Why not show it in either a popover or a slide-under-and-push-the-rest-of-the-content thingie (above or below the photo posted by that user; who cares if that scrolls the rest of the view up or down since the user is asking for info related to just one of the pictures)?
Good example of a slide-under-and-push-the-rest-of-the-content thingie: Imagine if the screenshot view in the App Store in iOS 6 were hidden at first, then revealed when you would tap Details/Reviews/Related, simply not so prominent.
@Perceval McElhearn — Gotcha. Good points made. However, I should have mentioned this view isn't finished yet — still working on the side part (adding more content). Also, this would only appear when you tap & hold the avatar. Tapping it once would take you to that users profile. Thanks for the input though :)

I like the layout which is unique. Golden icon works great.
Clean design - this is what I personally value a lot.
Curious on what do you plan to have on the top left just before @james?

@James ✌ I was thinking about the user picture maybe? It just looks like you left a space here on purpose so was just wondering.

I have no feedback.
Roll with this.
Edit: After a second look, see if you can somehow get this centralised to the big button: http://c.daryl.im/Jbzx

What if the username is much longer than @james? Just a thought. I really like the design though.
