massed - past participle, past tense of mass
Verb: Assemble or cause to assemble into a mass or as one body

A logo I created for a new outdoor marketing/production company. I wanted it to reflect the idea of all the different facets of the business forming the bigger collective.

I like it, but does it work without the texture and varied tones? Basically does it work as well in solid black?

Really Nice! I agree with @Eric Benjamin if it would work in solid black. You could slightly separate the individual pieces leaving some negative space and possibly get the same effect in black? Welcome to Dribbble!

thanks guys, yeah it works in black and without any texture. I did a version with about a 1px gap between each piece, it looks good but we preferred the "quilted" look w/ the graident for web/motion graphic use.

Hi Michael! Welcome to dribbble. I'm pretty new here too.
Just a heads up if you have not heard of this story: http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/victoria/melbourne-city-may-sue-companies-over-distinctive-symbol/story-e6frf7kx-1226017326288

Your logo reminded me of this story, but after a second look at it I see that it doesn't look that alike. Your client is not based in Australia either.. Nice textures btw.
