Thinking up some logo ideas for Photographer, Rikke Kristine.
This is very early days, and I'm really in two minds about it all. One is saying it's too simple and just plain boring, the other is saying to keep it simple. Think I might push myself into some other crazy directions before I come up with a concept I want to run with.
The challenge is there is such a variety in her photography work. It goes from dreamy landscapes to haunting abandoned mental asylums. Getting something that works across all those subjects and not look out of place is quite a challenge.
The RK mirrored thing seems to be pretty common, so I want to avoid that a bit. In this case it also starts looking a bit like something out of Space Invaders....
I'm liking it! I think that it is a blessing having the R and K initials to work with. Some combinations are just much harder to do anything nice with. I think you're onto something very cool with this.
But I do know what you mean though about her style being so diverse – it may be difficult to find type/mark that will represent everything she does.
Although... you could always stick a set of Viking horns on it too and see how that works. ;-)
I actually did an RK monogram with a mirrored R a couple of years ago. So you're right, it's been done at least once :)
My first thought when seeing this was a cameras "crosshair" (can't remember what it's called), but not overdone, just with a transparent background and a white ring around it. But maybe that's also too common.

Second pass on a logo for photographer Rikke Kristine
She wanted to take it into a modern, simple, typographic direction.
