Here is the expanded alphabet for Neuerlehrer, still tinkering with the Z, but here is a snapshot of what's been done thus far. The characters in cyan are ones that I'm not 100% happy with as yet.
The alphabet will be limited to Uppercase A-Z, 3 Umlaut characters & an Eszett.
I love how in a couple of days you just casually draw the rest of the alphabet. Looking really good so far! Of the cyan characters, personally, I love the 'A', 'K' 'X' and 'Y'. There is something bugging me about the 'M' but not sure what it is. Perhaps that it feels a little 'droopy' on the corners? (Almost as if there's not enough of a straight horizontal at the top – if that makes any sense). For the 'S', I think the upper part feels too heavy. Maybe try bringing in the top right end stroke and moving the diagonal up a little.
The only other thing I noticed was that the 'G' crossbar feels a little short. It might be interesting to try extending it a little so it's less abrupt and more in keeping with the much longer ones on 'E' and 'F'.
Thanks Claire!! I see what you mean about the M & G. How I was going to approach the M & W and how similar or different they were going to be took up a lot of time.
I think the biggest failure with the current S is that it looks like it's tipping back, as if it were about to faint onto the R. So I'll make some adjustments & re-upload.
