03 — Bait

They gained on me pretty quickly. I had no chance of outrunning them in this suit. Then it twigged. My transponder.

They were chewing up the internals of the ship, almost in a trance consuming every electrical item in sight!

A stroke of luck! A chasm. A seemingly bottomless pit. I threw that transponder as far as I physically could, before I even realised that was my last ticket off this rock.

The sun is setting. I can already see the condensation gathering on my mask. It’s getting colder by the minute.
