The Universe In Your Mind

When I was in college I had an instructor talk about how we should always be taking in our surroundings, whether sketching, taking notes or photos. He would say "The world around you creates the foundations for our work" and "To watch how a leaf falls, a ball bounces, the laws of natural world" because we as designers must emulate what looks real and natural. This quote emphasizes that what we create is real, whether we take from experience or create something new, its part of our existence.
