   Hmmm I would say the contrast is not too bad, it just needs to be brighter, the paper is an off white colour.

   The table also contributes to it's dark look and feel. It's like someone is hovering over it.

   @roger bacardit Maybe you could change the background to a lighter color and make each individual color of the pencil and notebook lighter?
