Looking nice Ben! two things though.
1) the text on the buttons seems just one or two pixels higher than center. is that intentional?
2) I'm not sure I'm a fan of the square cover-art for the films. I think any thumbnails like that should retain aspect ratio.
@Anthony Killeen The idea behind the posters in that they're poking up from the bottom. I'd have it so when you tapped it, then the posted would slide into full view.
We need animationisms to shows peoples how this works. Now @Ben Howdle lets make some? :D

Why not use icons instead of text? I like the overall look of the app, keep up the great work!
@Ben Howdle ahhh, I see that now. Perhaps add a small shadow to the bottom then to suggest that it's tucked behind.
In such a dark app, I woulda used a really nice, vibrant, color like #32ebcc.
