One question: How do you calculate the space between the circles around the boombox? Is there a mathematical ratio to look like it's gradually expending?
I used the actions palette in Photoshop. I started with the center circle and then increased the size by a set percentage and applied it over and over, so as it grew, the gap would get bigger as well. The weight of the lines was by eye. I kept them at 3px until they started to reach the buildings, then I went down to 2px and then 1px for the final 2 rings.
If you've never used the actions palette experiment a bit, it's really handy for creating precise patterns in your work.
