I love how much detail you can put in w/so few pixels to work with! Looks terrific
So freaking cute! Love how you can see his expressions even when he's so tiny! You are nothing short of a genius Mr Lanham!
Pixel perfect. Nice work David!
Can't wait for this :)
These are bloody adorable!
Nice work. Love it.
Okay, I was already looking forward to this. Now I'm real excited.
Nice! (As usual.) =D
Looks soo clear and crisp. Can't wait to see these in action :D
Amazing work as always David ^.^
Their expressions are brilliant, amazing work as always :D
Wow. Astounding detail.
Is this raster or fine-tuned vector?
Specifically, it's Photoshop vector shapes in a smart object scaled down 50% (the actual size art is used for @2x Retina sizes). The smart object has a bit of a sharpen filter applied but otherwise it's a straight scale down. Yes, it was a pain to get the pixels just right at both sizes, but worth it in the end for easy tweaking and exporting :D
Woah! That sounds really hard. I would love to see a tutorial on something like that *hint hint*
by David Lanham
I was asked how I set up the sprites so here's a quick explanation: The 1x sprite is a smart object scaled down from a 2x version made with vector shapes. The scaled smart object then has a light sharpen filter applied to make sure things are crisp. Works really well most of the time, although occasionally there's some minor pixels that need touching up.
