A crop of the main .psd from Super Clew Land, a game Rusty Moyher, Matt Grimm and I made for the most recent Ludum Dare. I drew over a hundred frames of animation during the 72 hour jam.

You are a machine.
Rad. Love the colors and sectioned-off areas.
Just out of curiosity, are your sprites hand rendered per pixel or with vector shapes/layer styles?
I played through the entire game, and I really appreciated the way the purple on the enemies and spikes screamed “evil”. :)
@Mitch Ray, everything is done in Photoshop, one pixel at a time, by hand.
Awesome, that's how I've always done it too. I've been experimenting recently though with layer styles for lighting but you lose part of that classic style.
I have the urge to play NES Mario.
Great idea great game!
You missed the best one :)
You slay me, man. This is fantastic.
Nostalgic memories of Mimeo...
I'm no close to the end! I can taste it. But I have to respond so far away every time. I'm going to go ahead and say it Shawn. This is my favorite of your games. Genius. Would have played this for hours back in the Nintendo days.
Update: FINISHED IT!
You are so inspiring!
