@Sam, I agree, but I thought I would pay tribute to the history and legacy of the city. It does bring up a good question of what would represent Pittsburgh now?
@Max, Chest bump indeed.
@Dave, you have a point.
@Joel, never thought of it in relation to the Pirates. Thats probably something we don't need to relate back to Pittsburgh. Then again they were pretty good back in early 1900s. The typeface is MVB Solano Gothic one of my favorites.
@Mathew - Haha, yeah, well they had their glory days too. Many a times I remember watching Andy Van Slyke, Bobby Bonilla, and Barry - well that other guy do some really great stuff on the field.
The factory complex on the right was replaced by an office building (formerly Seagate) and the one on the left by a parking lot. The commercial buildings in the foregound (along Penn Avenue) and the Fort Wayne railroad bridge are still there!
It's from the top of the Pennsylvania Building (once Pittsburgh's Union Station) north to the Allegheny River. Basically from the Amtrak station directly north: http://bit.ly/dXg5p7

Rather see this Pittsburgh than a picture of the fat-headed QB they have.

This reminds me of all those posters they have at the top of Mt. Washington inside the Incline. A good pictoral history indeed.
BTW nice use of a typeface. Totally reminds me of the Pirates.

Love this Matthew. But then again, I'm a hardcore Matthew Braun fan. P.S. The shirt is rockin', however my wife is already wearing it :,-(

@Michael - is this shot along Penn Avenue, like where Wholley's is?? I used to work at 1500 Penn Ave for over a year, a block up from Wholley's.
