    I sense a lot of anger and frustration here.
    Yes, sometimes it may be hard to tolerate when the client who is totally incompetent in your field of action keeps insisting on a decision that is plain awful. But it's a part of your job: not only to make the right decision, but also to clarify your position on it, to make a stand for it with the client and to insist on its realization.
    Sometimes it may feel impossible, it may drive you mad, when the client denies the voice of reason, but it's still part of your job. Because a designer is a medium, take it as a challenge, a hard one sometimes; but at the end of the day you can feel pride, because you made the world a better place with a better product that works and is useful and is easy to use, and which looks so good.
    This is the way.

    Or perhaps just stop working for dull boring clients and build something the world uses. I got out of the independent contractor monkey race a while ago and I'll never look back. Product design is amazing.
