I thought the shadow between the circles on the previous one was not quite working, so the transparency turned out to be a much better solution. And the change to make the bottom circle the dialog balloon itself was genius.
It's very gorgeous now, I can't think of other things to say :)

Love it. Though the italic text is a bit too downplayed. I imagine that text to be an introduction or a teaser to get me to read the rest of the note/article. But the way it is here, the body text is easier to read, and more prominent. Perhaps try using the same type style for that intro section as the rest of the text?
Also not crazy about the horizontal rule between the intro and body.
Looks friggin' awesome though. Thanks for sharing your progress. =)

Yup - I agree with your change on the comment count bubble. Much more pleasingly balanced now.
Since there is a little vertical room between the baseline of the text and the underlying grid, I'd kind of like to see a little space horizontally between the edge of the left aligned text and the vertical line of the underlying grid. Essentially, scooching the background to the left a few pixels. (I'd also get that horizontal rule aligned to the grid.)
But overall, it has a very calm, harmonious look. Nice work.

FYI grids are VERY hard to maintain on multiple browsers. 1px shifts inbetween versions of the same browser for instance.
