    Fullview!

I spent ages trying to come up with a decent icon for MyPaint–the app I do my sketches in–but couldn't get anything decent. Finally tumbled upon Ben's Photoshop icon and found inspiration to make this. Critique would be awesome :3

OH and you can download it if you want to try it out.

How are you creating your wood textures? Are they from scratch or a texture set? Everything looks very good. I especially like the canvas.

So so nice @Ollin . Texture on that canvas is amazing, and I like how you combine blue and orange.

@Scott Criswell There are a million good wood textures out there... I've actually reused the same batch of them for almost every project, heh. But most any decent texture will do.

Here's the process I use to "treat" the source texture so that it works with my design. Wood texture is relatively easy to get right, actually, because real wood is a color change on a flat surface. Other textures are bumpy surfaces, and you have to adjust your texture in order to match the light sources of your image. Wood texture can just be layered on top :3

Oh, and, in the case of the easel legs here, there is the additional step of distorting the texture to match the surface.

@Ollin, Thanks for the reply. I was curious if you made them on your own or tweaked existing textures. I've done it both ways but have had better results with 3rd party textures from people who specialize in creating them. Your use of them is always masterful. Great stuff!

@Ollin Thanks for your process link. I wouldn't have thought to desaturate first and then process the texture. Good advice!
