Hey Chris! I love the kinetic system of marks you have going here. 2 things I spot right away: 1) I think the line weight you use in the meat should be the same weight used in the knife so they feel like part of the same family. 2) Is the "the" custom type, if not, it would be nice to have it be
@Chad Michael the line weight is different, will take a look at. These are just two out of a series of icons, so all together they look closer... but yeah. the "The" would be nice custom but they wanted a font they could use with typekit.
The weight all round works really well together. I'd like to see the "stamp" have some more artefacts in between the lettering and ring - stamps always have some :) Great work!

Round 2 for the Curist, a publication dealing with everything cured meats. Logo with some variations that can be used when needed.

The one on the top right would be cooler if the red stamp was larger and overlapped "CURIST". Maybe titled at an angle a little.

Dude, these are all awesome. My favorite is the big ol' hunk of meat.

@Chad Michael went back and re-drew the meat, you were right... looks more "in the family" now. Good spot.
@Andrew Fehrsen I scanned a circle stamp I had and took that with artifacts and all with the type. looks way more legit. Thanks for the idea.

Uh, how do you get your stamp effect. I am trying to do it in AI and it's driving me mad.
