What happens when you click one of these buttons?
Obviously the context of the rest of the app will give them more meaning and description. But wanted to see what you thought.
BTW.. that user icon is from the upcoming Pictos 3!
.... the cloud icon is from Pictos 1 :)

User icon: Looks like it should trigger a dropdown menu of sorts either on hover or click
Cloud icon: (apart from being quite sexy) seems as though it is a call-to-action upload button
Button/icon on the left is a drop-down menu for user/profile settings or options. I'm reading the button on the right (sort of literally) as "upload to the cloud".
My thinking is the same as @Alex's
I'm hoping that the circle around the cloud icon is going to be a progress bar.
First honest thought button on left is me eating food, second button is what happens after eating said food :-D
The same as what Alex said
Yeah user settings and upload. Love the idea of seeing a progress bar implemented too!
@Liam Wouldn't it be the bee's knees if this was the uploading view?
I think so...

get down and get high
Ok well the cloud button is obviously an eject button. It's cute and innocent upon appearance, but when pressed...SHOOP! That's what we cal...THE AWESOME BUTTON.
The other one is a guy...you click and he is happy you pay him attention.

Drew's Quixly Button shot inspired me to have a play around with some buttons of my own. Also threw these glyphs together. I find it really therapeutic creating glyphs for some reason :D
Love @Jono Mallanyk's idea of an upload bar in the outer circle.
These are really lovely buttons...I want to click...
Really sweet.. great work
I love the extra effect on the cloud icon. Feels like it needs to be tapped.

I just had to see what it looked like on a light background and with a progress bar. Oh man, Drew.

I liked the colors Drew had and the overall look so I decided to do something of my own. You can download the PSD for free here
Let me know what you guys think!
