We are investigating the possibility of doing a second W3Conf, in November 2012 (last year’s: http://w3conf.org/ ). I designed a number of logos, this is the one Doug & I liked best so far. Feedback? Suggestions?

Love the colour palette on this.
Not so keen on the brown background / starburst effect (hope that's just a "ta-da" thing).
@Jason Hobbs: Yeah, the starburst is just to showcase the logo, not an actual design element :)
Great mark and I also like the use of W and 3 but it reminds me the neXT's logo.
Really looks good! Great choice of colors

id try one colour for the font but make each side slighty darker tone of the same colour if you know what i mean.

How about this :D hope you dont mind me chipping in ideas :S
I really like the concept and the colours. I would say remove the starburst bg however.
I really really love the colors on the cube. For some reason I read the top of the cube first, so if I hadn't known what it was "W3" wouldn't have really jumped out at me. My mind kept thinking "EE" like Expression Engine or something.
Personally, I like the multiple colors. It is fun. That's the kind of event I want to go to... One where the people are having fun.

Same idea, swapped the sides of the "CONF" and 3 to make it more legible. It loses the mirroring of the W and 3 which I liked in the previous one, but that’s exactly what hindered its legibility.
I also removed the starburst from the background since many people thought it was part of the logo.

just a rough sketch to get the idea of simplifying the "conf" for clearity across… if it's okay to let go of the "conf".
reminds me of the enron logo, for some reason.
