I think, for a sense of purity, you could remove the cords. That in black would be excellent. You might also want to adjust the junction at the centre of the two bowls so they mirror each other perfectly.
Thanks for the advice. Yeah, the B's junction needs refining. This was literally the first render from being sketched. I'm quite fond on the cords myself but having it without will definitely be an option offered to the client.
@Sam Valentino it's likely to be used for signage and a window graphic but as the project progresses i'll be looking at how its applied to stationary and may find the cords do get lost and may have to be ditched.
I agree that the logo works without the cords because of the left hand edges. The cords do look great too, but I also think these would be lost when the logo is shrunk to a small size. So perhaps the cords could be included in an alternate version for us in certain media, or vice versa?
this is a result of some of the feedback I was given. The minimalist in me prefers this a lot- but without the cords I wonder whether the idea is lost? To see this for the first time without knowing the company's profession isn't clear and I think the cords helped. As it stands it sort of reminds me of something you might associate with an airline.

Work in progress. Initial concept for a local Blind and Tracks service company. Something similar exist?

I agree with Rich for the junction. How big will this be? I like the cords myself, but if it were small they'd disappear. Good concept!

Cheers Guys,

Like it. The cords should stay in! Without them your whole idea is gone. then it's just a striped B.

Saw something on the same lines here: http://drbl.in/dUTC
Btw, I really like this idea and I would be sold if you remove the cord. Congrats!

Thanks people,
I'm gonna knock up a rebound of this that doesn't have the cords and has better balance in the 'junction'.
@Dale Owen Think you could be right, in that the logo is given a minimum size with the cords included and anything below that, they get removed.

Here is a second version of my initial concept - http://drbl.in/eRqE

The junction in the 'B' now has a better balance.
