Hey, something about the shaded bevel at the top of the sign in button looks odd to me... I think it might be that the button looks pressed in and out at the same time.

I kinda see what you're saying and kinda don't. :\
Is it because the top of the button gets a little darker a couple pixels in from the stroke?
Nah, it's the bevel (or shadow?) on the outside of the hard dark outline stroke that makes the button look like it's sitting inside a crevice/indent. Maybe, if you want to keep the indented look you should make the button feel more raised.
