   Here's an idea I was toying with - for the first book, I did it all in AI, with flat color backgrounds. I was wondering how it would look if I kept the drawing style the same, but layered it over old paper for a treasure map kind of feel (see the attachment for the rough edges). Any thoughts/preferences between this and solid color?

   Sam - I personally like the texture - I think it adds to the overall picture, but doesn't take away from your wonderful illustrations - just my opinion!
