1. That's really the name. 2. Texture thumbs up or thumbs down?

texture for sure
I like the texture but I soften them a bit more.
agree with @ Julio Ramos, take the texture down a bit, but looks nice.
Maybe turn the texture white so it's a little more subtle.
I would say NO texture, it would still be nice without it.
Works without the texture. I think. If you decide to keep the texture, subtly is key.
Why don't you put the texture in the black? I'd probably save the texture for other applications that you can control, website or brochures. If you're just turning over the files, I'd probably leave it out.
The skate company?
I think it doesn't need the texture. I like it a lot anyways, though.
I agree with Mr. Jinkins on this one. Nice logo!
two thumbs up!
thumbs up to the texture. I'd like to see it in white too - so you only see the texture over the black. nice work!
I think it easily stands on its own without texture, but I'd love to see this on a round wooden sign (http://is.gd/DWw8ND). Great work!
Need this on a t-shirt :)
good work. without the texture would be best (in my opinion) for the regular logo. then add texture for the site/promo items.
You should sell them on making this a branding iron. They're usually not too expensive: http://www.brandingirons.com
