I've been checking out Affinity Designer lately for personal projects. You can see my initial impressions here. I plan on getting back to that project soon enough (gameboy incoming!) but haven't had time to work on any more this weekend.

That said, I did want to work on some older projects like this one (which has always given me a weird sense of melancholy for whatever reason), throw different filetypes at Affinity, and just brush up an older project quickly because it's been a busy weekend and I just wanted to have something to post :)

Affinity is still impressing me. I had fun recoloring this project a bit, adding noise to it, some subtle gradient fills, etc. I think it really helps take this older project and bring it more contemporary look. Still some basic workflow issues I have with Affinity. Paste In front/behind are innocuous shortcuts in Illustrator, but painful when missing from something such as Affinity where you need to constantly rearrange layers or use bring to front/back and move to front/back commands. I miss the shape maker tool, reflect tool, and many other tools from Illustrator that are, for me at least, mainstays. I am not complaining though because for all I know they could be on Serif's todo list and what they've delivered so far is incredible. I am continually blown away by the speed of the app and learn more with every project.
