Had an idea at midnight, thought it was worth having a crack at and by half past 12 had this. Could potentially do with some refinements here and there, but happy with the result so far.

I like it.. colours work well together.. contrast with the white maybe a little much for some people, but for a midnight attempt, can't really complain, really nice work..
Nice one mate. It has an 80's feel about it. Reminds me of Saturday morning TV (like Swap Shop etc)! ... I assume this will lead your site redesign into an entirely new direction then yes?
@Lee Fuller cheers fella, yeah, had thought that myself, theres a version which has a very slight sharp drop shadow around the R which works a little better. Needs some fiddling with though. It's attempt one, might use the same concept and try some different colours overlaid in different ways.
Nice work Nik, I like that - I like the colours and shapes.
The 'R' seems to get a little lost though, maybe try it in a black / dark grey to provide more contrast against the colours.
@Matt Morse yeah :S unfortunately I talk myself out of a lot of designs when I have to leave them for long periods to work on client work. When all this is finally done, gonna do a blog post on how long it took and show some of the designs that didn't make it ;)

And for this who mentioned it, heres what it looks like with a) a 2px black drop shadow (set to overlay) and a black version which clashes a little too much for my liking

Still prefer this :)
Looking good, love the colours mate.
