Trying to streamline the process for updating an issue's status. I hate always having to click the radio button and then click the update button.

Logically labeling the buttons like this works and enables the removal of the status field from the comment form, but the buttons just don't feel right yet. I'm also rather afraid that it will make it more confusing for the average user.

I definitely think it needs some more love and some suggestions from all of the brilliant folks on Dribbble.

I think the elements that don't feel right is the buttons.

Also "unplanned" is not expressive enough unless you are very familiar with the context.

Zach - You're totally right. That's the part that I'm bothered by. :) I've updated my commentary so that it's more clear.

I thought about making the buttons all the same color/style until you hover, but that feels like a hack.

I'd either drop the icons on Reopen / Close or add one in the Update button - feels unbalanced at the moment

You might also consider sizing the Reopen / Close buttons to 75% of the Update button to set the visual priority

With some slight tweaks to the existing way of doing it, it doesn't seem all that bad. This way we only need a single "update" button at the bottom.

One click status updates will just need to be handled some other way. Full context (and very rough comp) over on Mocksup.

If I was viewing this on an iPad I'd think I need to slide the upgrade button to the left or right.

I suppose replacing the arrows with the word "or" doesn't quite cut it. I like the rebound just fine.
