@Wil Nichols It's good, I like the concept, but there are certainly some things to improve. The shading on the metal is not that great [Does not match the Aqua lighting setup, but also does not reflect the tasks], the paper is too shiny at the bottom, the tasks are different dimensions [Confusing the emphasis given by the different placement] and their drop shadows are much too weak. Small rendering details, yes, but I am still wary.
@Manuel No, it isn't. The fact that he chose [correctly] to make the paper matte, the shadows a certain darkness, and two of the tasks the same size, is personal preference.
Internal consistency is what shows quality and attention to detail in any style of artwork. If he makes the artistic choice to use a certain material, certain light source, certain base measurement, that is great. If he is not consistent with that choice in other aspects of the work, he is not doing so intentionally, but mistakenly. I am trying to suggest ways that he can improve the internal consistency of his artistic vision :)
What makes having the shadows darker part of his artistic vision? The drop shadow from the pad is a certain level of darkness, for one thing. More importantly, at the bottom edges of the tasks, you can see it is getting dark where it reflects the [nonexistent] dark shadow. So the dark shadow should be there. How is the matte paper part of his vision? He has decided to not show any reflection of the tasks on the white paper–so the paper is clearly nonreflective. He has also adopted the Apple photorealistic style–and paper in this style, as in real life, does not reflect shinily at curved edges.
...just trying to explain myself. Hope I wasn't too brusque. I like Philipp's work a lot and was certainly not trying to be rude, just trying to suggest ways that he could improve. As with your comment, this is only my opinion, which I am trying to explain as clearly as possible so that you may have ease in evaluating it.

@Ollin I agree with the metal shading somewhat but the rest really is mostly personal preference imo

Thanks for the feedback Ollin :P I'd definitely go back and redo the metal rings now but honestly I'm happy with the rest.
