Here's the first draft for a homepage I put together for the folks at elementary. Took much longer than anticipated (around 16 hours), and still a WIP, but I'm pretty happy with how it's turning out. My goal was to keep it real clean and clutter-free this time, avoiding unnecessary chunkiness and visual weight, all while conforming to their Styleguide (fonts, colors, etc.).
I wonder, does it even need the subtle gradients in the background? The only thing I would change is push the laptop hero image down just a tiny bit, apart from that you've nailed this.
@Louis Bullock Good suggestion! I initially left them out, but I felt the navigation kinda got lost in the rest of the page. Plus, I'm a sucker for their brand colors :)
Visually it looks awesome. Great work. I'm not excited about the copy-writing though and just wanted to share that (I don't know if they are temporary or not?). The main tagline is "An OS without the hassle" yet the 2 big points (out of 3) below explains how to burn it (!) and how to keep your install smooth. I'd rewrite/rethink these because obviously they don't fit with the main tagline :)
@Vincent Gosselin Thanks! Admittedly, I'm not much of a copywriter, so I'm sure once the team works out the final copy we'll be able to lose the smarmy undertones :). Although "burn" refers to the process of burning it onto some kind of media device, usually CD or USB :P
One of my fav web design. Very clean...some feedback:
That green for "Register" is not hitting me up like white Login. Maybe you can play with the green button style. Color is great but just the layer style.
@Axel Norvell Thanks for the suggestion! That grammar was actually intentional, just part of the smarminess that will go away if the elementary team approves this design and the copy is finalized :P

nice. I think you could lessen the thinkness of the stroke around the lighter tablets. seems way too strong.

@Maxwell Barvian No probs. I swear though if I look long enough I see subtle gradients around the nav. Clean is definitely the way to go though.

Is it quite nice, but for some reason it feels like a WordPress theme or something along the lines of that?

Grammar fix:
"You could have been up and running with elementary 20 minutes ago"
Because "20 minutes ago" is past tense. "You could be" applies to right now. "You could of been" is more appropriate ;)
Nice design though. I feel like the shader for the split lines could be more subtle though.
