@Roy Abbink & @Lindsay Norman the letters were a way for me to spec out how many differing design templates I was going to need to create in development.
Example: If a page is marked with an "B" I knew it could share many of the components on the page because they all belonged to the blog section of the site.
Thanks @Joe Chiang! I tend to stick to Illustrator for this kind of work.
